Winterizing the Engine

Bilges can be cleaned with hot water and a stiff brush, then dried before being sprayed with lubricant and antifreeze. It is also a good idea to thoroughly clean the boat both inside and out to prevent buildup during the winter months. When storing your boat for the winter it should be covered completely to protect it from the winter elements.
