Why Are Old Games So Much Better Than New Ones?

Games consoles have been around for plenty of years and most people have grew up with them in there lives, but are games these days becoming a lot more serious and stressful than they used to be? Games are meant to be played to have some fun not to get you wound up and stressed.

There are a few examples of some games that we will now take a look at which are still around on the current generation of games consoles, but are just not as fun as they used to be.

Championship Manager 96/97
Well what can you say about this game, besides from the fact that it is one of the best managerial games that I have ever played. Strip out all the graphics from a game and switch it to a text based version and you on to a sure fire winner. Basically this title consisted of you starting off as a manager and choosing a club, you had to then build up your team via the transfer market and eventually win all cups and leagues (We all remember the cup winners cup!). Although the matches were all set out in a textual format I feel this was much better as it also brushed you up on your reading skill.

Donkey Kong Country
Yet again the first Donkey Kong game to be released on the SNES was an absolute hit, it actually became the 3rd most successful game on the console and you can definitely tell why. Forget about graphics and the rest. I don\'t really want to walk around in a 3D world when you can have so much fun playing 2D. The game had a great storyline and the levels were awesome to say the least.

Sonic and Mario
Just as Donkey Kong, Sonic and Mario were absolute legends; whenever there games were released people were cueing up at the door. The games were also based on side scrolling platforms and although the current Sonic and Mario games are still adventurous to play, there is no way that they will match they heyday when they were selling around 20 million copies.

It just goes to show that although technology advances, I think game titles should slow down as people have enough worries in there life with stressful job and finances. The last thing people want to do is come home to sit on there games console and load them selves up with even more stress.
