Window shopping is a hobby for many of us. Internet wilfing is a very similar activity that is used to pass the time over the internet. It is a very common aspect which internet users may perform. Wilfing seems to be very addictive for many people and they often get distracted by this form of activity from their regular daily tasks.

Wilfing is used as a time pass, to basically browse aimlessly over the web pages on the internet and just to gaze at the contents on each individual web page. There is no end result that comes out of internet wilfing, other then jumping over pages to pages in the cyber world.

In a recent survey conducted here in the UK, it is observed that two out of three internet users surf web pages without any aim and are just curious about checking various different types of content categories.

Some internet users do perform internet wilfing from there home or at work and spend a significant amount of their time just gazing over the pages of the internet. It is also not very surprising that often a lot of young surfers get attracted by different types of flashing advertisements and pop-ups displayed while checking other websites. They get deviated by these flashy ads and start clicking on them and checking other websites without any specific purpose or aim. Internet wilfing can become very addictive for people who get obsessed with reading interesting content. This can sometimes even affect a person's personal relationship as well.

Surfing over the internet can be a healthy option to pass the time, rather than any other horrible habits such as smoking or talking to friends over the phone or messaging others using SMS. As you know smoking causes major health problems where as surfing on the internet just gives an addiction which is not as hazardous to your health like smoking. Talking over mobile phones and sending SMS repeatedly may be disturbing to your colleagues at work, where as surfing on the internet does not disturb anybody else. It sometimes gives refreshing thoughts when used in the correct manner.

It is a continuous debate whether internet wilfing is a real waste of time or whether it can actually be constructive to the working environment? Internet wilfing can be enjoyable when it is done in moderation and until people enjoy doing it in right way, it will not be widely accepted. Just a few hours of wilfing in a day can be enjoyable for anybody. Wilfing when done moderately and occasionally can be considered as a better choice to pass the time. But when you reach the addictive point and get absorbed into it, you should really try to pull yourself back.
